Texaco has been operating in the United States for more than 100 years. After not operating in the U.S. for three years as an antitrust stipulation of the merger with Chevron, Texaco resumed operations in July 2004 and now has stations from coast to coast.
Texaco Service Stations
Chevron Products Company supplies more than 1,500 Texaco-branded service stations in the United States in 26 states: Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia and Wyoming -- and the District of Columbia. You can find the location of Texaco stations in our station finder.
When Texaco merged with Chevron in 2001, Chevron Products Co. temporarily gave up rights to the Texaco retail brand as an antitrust stipulation, and gas was sold in the U.S. under the Texaco retail name by a competitor. In July 2004, Chevron regained non-exclusive rights to the Texaco retail brand and started selling gas under the Texaco name in the Southern and Eastern United States: Alabama, the District of Columbia, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and West Virginia. In July 2005, Chevron started selling gas under the Texaco retail name in a broader area, including many states in the Western United States. Chevron regains exclusive rights to the Texaco retail brand in July 2006.
You can recognize which Texaco-branded stations are supplied by Chevron Products Co. because they sell fuels with the Techron additive. No competitor sells fuels with Techron. Also, look for stations that accept both the Texaco credit card and the Chevron credit card.
Texaco Brands and Products
Texaco gasolines in the U.S. contain the Techron additive, unsurpassed in keeping four-stroke engines clean and performing their best. Texaco also sells a wide range of products for cars and light trucks, as well as for commercial and industrial use.
Texaco has a family of quality sub-brands, including Havoline, Ursa and XPress Lube.
Texaco Credit Cards
All Texaco stations supplied by Chevron accept both the Texaco credit card and the Chevron credit card. The Texaco credit card can also be used at all Chevron stations. To obtain a dual-branded Texaco and Chevron credit card, apply online or call 1-800-FREEAPP (1-800-373-3277) to complete the application process by phone.
Custom credit cards are available, including the No. 42 Havoline Dodge racecar card. If you're already a card holder and wish to change to a custom credit card, simply contact us and request a new custom card.
Some stations continue to be operated by an independent dealer or by a competitor, and they may not accept the Texaco and Chevron credit cards. Some may accept the competitor's credit card.
Participating Texaco stations accept all major bank cards and all major credit cards.
