NEXTEL Cup Series
- Final First: Juan Pablo Montoya's visit to Kansas Speedway will be his final trip to a track unknown. It is the only track left on the 2007 NASCAR schedule on which Montoya has yet to compete. The 1.5-mile speedway is considered by many similar to Chicagoland Speedway where he and the Texaco/Havoline team started 30th and finished 15th in July.
The Texaco/Havoline crew led by Crew Chief Donnie Wingo has seen success at Kansas Speedway however. Last season the No. 42 Dodge team finished second in Kansas. Since the No. 42 Texaco/Havoline Team's inception in 2003, Wingo and the crew have amassed three top-10 finishes and one top-five finish in just four starts.
- Standings: Montoya's 10-place run at Dover International Speedway moved him up one position in the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup season from 20th to 19th. Montoya and the Texaco/Havoline team have earned three outside-poles, one win, two-top five and five top-10 finishes this season.
- Ladies' Night Returns to CGRFS: After a successful debut in 2006, Ladies' Night is returning this October to the Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates (CGRFS) Concord, N.C., race shop Wednesday, October 10 (6:30 to 8:30 p.m. ET), with more fun festivities. In addition to free admission and a complimentary behind-the-scenes tour of the CGRFS race shop, cocktails and hors d'oeuvres will be on the house for all attendees. Guests will also be treated to a fall fashion show that will include apparel designed by the CGRFS Drive4Design contest winner Heath Harmon, as well as a sneak peek at the new fall fashions. - Rookie Race: Montoya earned his 12th Rookie of the Race honor last weekend at Dover International Speedway with his 10th-place finish. He increased his points lead over David Ragan in the standings to 15 (222-207) with eight races remaining in the 2007 season. Montoya's 19th-place standing in NASCAR NEXTEL Cup points is also the best of any rookie. Jamie McMurray, driver for Texaco/Havoline in 2003, was Rookie of the Race at Kansas Speedway with his Wingo-led team. McMurray drove the No. 42 Dodge to an eighth-place finish.
- Chassis: Crew Chief Donnie Wingo and the Texaco/Havoline team are bringing chassis #706 to Kansas Speedway this weekend. The team has utilized this chassis five times this season earning two of its four top-10 finishes of the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup season. Chassis #706 has run at Texas (eighth-place finish), Atlanta (fifth-place finish), Pocono (20th-place finish), Chicagoland (15th-place finish) and Michigan (26th-place finish).
- Celebrating 20 Years: In celebration of Texaco's 20th anniversary in sponsoring stock car racing and a successful season for rookie Montoya, Chevron Products Company introduced its special limited edition gift card carrying the image of the No. 42 Texaco/Havoline race car and Montoya. The Texaco/Havoline branded gift cards are now available for purchase in denominations up to $100 at participating Texaco stations or online at www.texaco.com.
- Sirius-ly: Montoya and the team will be featured weekly on Sirius Satellite Radio's Driver2Crew Chatter. Driver2Crew Chatter puts fans in the car and in the pits. Fans can listen to Montoya's radio communication with Crew Chief Wingo, Spotter Tab Boyd and the rest of the Team on channel 119. Listen in every Monday at 5 p.m. ET on channel 128 for the "Juan Pablo Montoya Report."
