The Texaco brand has had a major presence in Latin America and the Caribbean since the beginning of the 20th century. In fact, it was recently named the "brand of choice" in an independent survey of Latin American consumers.

In countries throughout Latin America and the Caribbean, Texaco is a market leader in motor fuel, lubricants and convenience store sales. Texaco operates more than 5,000 service stations and 600 convenience stores throughout Latin America and the Caribbean, and enjoys significant lubricants market share across the continent.

Texaco in Central America
Texas Company Ltd.—later to become Texaco Caribbean Inc.—has operated in Central America since the early 1900s. Texaco service stations hold a strong number one position in all Central American countries. In October 2005, Texaco stations in El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Panama started selling fuels with the Techron additive.

The Texas Company—later to become Texaco—entered South America in 1915. Texaco service stations are number three in market share in Colombia, Peru and Venezuela. In October 2005, Texaco stations in Puerto Rico started selling fuels with the Techron additive.
