Chevron Products Company (NYSE:CVX) today announced that a 1908 Raceabout is the grand prize winner in the Texaco Car of the Decades contest. The virtual auto show contest allowed participants to vote for their favorite cars from every decade in the 20th century through present day, culminating in 11 decade winners and one grand prize winner.
Registered users voted for their favorite cars, and this year's decade winners are:
- 1900s: 1908 Raceabout
- 1910s: 1915 Roadster
- 1920s: 1927 Ford Tall "T" Coupe
- 1930s: 1937 Chevrolet Pickup
- 1940s: 1940 Cadillac LaSalle 5267 Convertible
- 1950s: 1953 Dodge Job-Rated Long Bed Pick Up Truck
- 1960s: 1969 Chevrolet Camaro
- 1970s: 1970 Dodge Charger 500
- 1980s: 1987 Buick GNX
- 1990s: 1996 Chevrolet Impala SS
- 2000s: 2005 Chrysler Crossfire Limited Roadster
Participants were invited to vote for the 11 decade winners and a panel of qualified judges - including racing legend Mario Andretti, the President of Automobile Magazine Jean Jennings, the Associate Editor of Car Craft Magazine John McGann, and Chris Jacobs from Overhaulin' and HubGarage.com - selected the grand prize "Editor's Choice" winner.
The grand prize winner, a 1908 Raceabout, will receive a trip for two to Skip Barber Two Day Driving School, a custom 20" x 30" color rendering of the car by automotive artist Dwayne Vance, $1,000 worth of Texaco with Techron® Gift Cards and a case of Havoline® with Deposit ShieldTM Motor Oil.
Each decade winner will receive prizes including a custom sketch of their winning car by Vance, $250 in Texaco gift cards and a case of Havoline® with Deposit ShieldTM Motor Oil.
