The Texaco Children's Art Competition is recognized as Ireland's longest running arts sponsorship. Throughout its history, the community-oriented competition has become part of the fabric of Irish life and is now recognized as a sponsorship that has touched the lives of almost every family in the country.

The competition offers children the irresistible mixture of challenge, competition and reward, exciting the imagination of every young person to create in drawings and paintings the images that fill their minds.

The Texaco Children's Art Competition, which celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2004, receives upwards of 50,000 entries each year. Annually, 161 young children aged 4-18 years are recognized for their award-winning artwork through a variety of events and promotional activities.

The competition has attracted entries from countless young people who have gone on to play a prominent role in Irish history--in the world of art, culture, education and other walks of life.
